The CIPR Crisis Communications Network was conceived and launched when we were still either in or struggling out of the UK’s Covid lockdowns. As such and given also that two of our committee members live outside the country anyway, we have always been online for our members.
But recently we sensed a feeling people would like the opportunity to meet, so we had our first face-to-face meeting on Thursday, December 5th in a pub near Trafalgar Square, London. We kept proceedings really informal, and it was so nice to catch up with some of you.

We also received positive feedback from some of our members who attended.
“Attending the CIPR Crisis Communications Network meet up was a fantastic evening. It was great to meet so many interesting crisis comms professionals in such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to future events in 2025.”
Isabelle Freeman, Cyber Security Consultant, PA
“It was great to meet practitioners who all had a shared interest in crisis communication and were enthusiastic members of the CIPR and the Crisis Network. I was struck by the range of organisations that people were from – it made for some great conversations.”
Ann Pilkington, Co-Founder, PR Academy
“I had the absolute pleasure of finally meeting my fellow colleagues from the CIPR Crisis Communications Network in person at the meet-up in London. After countless online interactions, it was amazing to finally meet in person, exchanging ideas and connecting in such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.”
Alina Steiklova, Founder and CEO at COMMSX International

We hope to do the same again in the coming year so watch this space for details.
